Want To Know A little More About Me?

I was born in the upper middle class town of Acton MA, where I was denied the pleasure of sugar cereals as a kid by my mother, as she was preaching the health hazards of those mystical ingredients in foods called preservatives. She married my father who was a giant Lithuanian man with a strong passion for construction work, singing and polka dancing. Topping it all off with an uncontrollable appetite for hard salami.

During those uncertain years of the early eighties when the Russians were coming, my parents packed up my dysfunctional self and my three sisters along with a year’s supply of dehydrated food and moved to rural western MA. Where I soon learned that people in America actually do watch the Dukes of Hazard.

After a miserable educational showing in high school, I finally received enough incompletes in my year and a half at college, to be released from the state educational system.

Setting forth to make my place in the working world, I was looking for a job that would facilitate my growing desire to hang out and drink beer with my friends. Since I didn’t have the credentials for the CIA and the Lithuanian mob was in a state of decline, I settled on the next best thing, construction work.

It was during my years in the construction field that I was exposed to the real world of beer drinking. I learned how to drink with people of all types. From stuffed suits in upscale establishments, to dirty bikers in dive bars (and I don’t mean the psuedo biker types you see sipping cappuccino in front of Starbucks). After working for this national construction company for more than a decade, I was rising to the top in my field and was offered an upper management position. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity to finally achieve a place of financial stability in the corporate world, I quit.

Needing money to support my beer consumption I turned to the oldest profession in the world, being a whore, better known these days as a consultant. I started a business where I hire myself out to other construction companies doing various tasks from bidding jobs, engineer assistance to skilled labor. This brings me to where I am today.

Since my career change, I have more free time on my hands, which in turn has allowed me to broaden my life long passion of beer. As I stated on my home page, when my girlfriend said I needed a hobby, I started beer-buzz.com in the fall of 2007. Which I hope will be enough of a success for me to keep it up and running for many years to come, as I am having a great time with it right now.

I still live in western MA where I own a home with my beautiful girlfriend Gretchen and my dog Henry. The majority of my family still resides in the New England area where we all have a very close relationship and they are a large part of my life which I am very fortunate about.

Take care for now.

James (Jay) Kazokas
